Empowering Sustainability: Garber automotive’s Solar PV Journey

Garber Rochester, part of the nationwide Garber Automotive Group, has established a strong presence in Rochester since 2011. Partnering with Power Management Company since 2008, Garber aimed to enhance sustainability and reduce energy costs by developing a comprehensive solar PV strategy for their five buildings.

PMC designed and implemented an efficient solar PV solution with 820 roof-mounted modules, leveraging state and federal incentives. Producing over 296,000 kWh annually, this turn-key project offers significant energy savings and supports Garber’s corporate sustainability goals, reducing their environmental impact.

PARTNERING FOR SUSTAINABLE ENERGY SOLUTIONS: POWER MANAGEMENT AND MELINK SOLAR'S PROJECT IN ROCHESTER, MA

Power Management Company (PMC) and Melink Solar completed a 1.07 MW ground-mounted solar array in Rochester, Massachusetts, on a 10-acre parcel identified by Whelan Associates. The project, owned by IGS Energy, features 3,420 solar PV modules and aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 8,895 tons over 25 years. In addition, PMC donated 100 acres of the original site for open space and recreation.

The community solar project allocates 50% of the energy benefits to Latham Centers, supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, while the remaining 50% benefits green-minded organizations like Verc Enterprises. This turn-key solution by PMC highlights their commitment to sustainable energy and community support, producing 1,040,000 kWh annually.

EMPOWERING EDUCATION WITH SOLAR: POWER MANAGEMENT's SOLUTION FOR STONEHILL COLLEGE

Stonehill College aimed to build a 2.7 MW solar PV system but faced financial and utility approval challenges. Power Management Company (PMC) provided a comprehensive solution, including financing, design, construction, and maintenance, at a cost lower than the college’s current electricity rate. PMC also secured necessary approvals from the utility and the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities.

The installation spans 15 acres and includes 9,000 ground-mounted PV modules, generating approximately 2,700 megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity annually. This reduces 2,363 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year, equivalent to saving 243,556 gallons of gasoline. The project supports Stonehill College’s sustainability goals and showcases PMC’s expertise in delivering efficient, eco-friendly energy solutions.
